Super attack

Super attacks are a feature that has first appeared and is prominently featured in Puyo Puyo~n. Intended to make the game more interesting, they really just have the effect of making matches longer and more drawn out. They can allow things such as preventing Nuisance Puyo from falling for a certain period of time, eliminating all Nuisance Puyo, eliminating all Puyo of a certain color, and etc. Super attacks have a tendency to make games very unbalanced, due to some characters having very good super attack (Doppelganger Arle's Super Attack prevents Nuisance Puyo from falling for 30 seconds, which can easily allow a good player to make a large chain by then), and some having very useless super attacks (Skeleton T's Super attack increases the players attack multiplier if they don't rotate their Puyo.)

Super attacks only reappear in Puyo Puyo Box. In this game, instead of each character having their own Super Attack, you are allowed to choose which super attack you would like to use for the match.

Building up super attacks

Building up your super attack is very easy, just make chains! How much you gain is dependent on how many super attacks you have already earned. The more super attacks you have earned, the longer it will take for you to build up another one.
