Rider is a shy, female student in Primp Town. She wears a bizarre hair style which she uses to hide her horns (as she is ashamed of them.) She also wears clothing with very long sleeves as to never reveal her hands or arms - It is generally believed that she has irregular limbs, though any potentially related official information is currently unavailable for English consumption. Her ears are long and elfish. Her dress, at least in Puyo Puyo Fever, appears to be a sort of jumper/tent dress or apron on top of a sweater.

Despite her innocent appearance, Rider makes several offensive statements in Puyo Puyo! 15th Anniversary. Although it's most likely accidental, it could possibly be passive-aggressive behavior. Rider is known to have self-esteem issues, which she confirms in dialog with other characters. Rider most likely has low self-esteem because she was teased as a child by her classmates for her irregular body parts. However, in recent times, Rider has gained an understanding from her classmates. She is good friends with Amitie and Tarutaru.

The etymology of Rider's name is not well known. The leading theory about her name states that it was mistranslated and should instead read 'Riddel' in English, although variations exist (notably, 'Riddle' and 'Liddel.')

In Puyo Puyo! 15th Anniversary, Rider and Satan meet in Rider's storyline, in a notable sub-plot. Rider notices Satan's horns and asks if Satan is her brother. Satan, of course, says no. Then, she asks if he would let her call him her brother if she won a Puyo match against him, to which he agrees. Because of this and their similar features, Satan and Rider are sometimes paired in fan-art. In theories where Fever characters are connected as 'equivalents' to Madou characters in previous games, Rider is often considered related to Seriri or Chico, and, rarely, Satan.

In Puyo Puyo 7, Rider doesn't appear, but references to her are made. In one of Amitie's win statements against Satan, she says she has "a friend with horns," probably referring to Rider. She also asks if Satan is her brother, making a reference to their sub-plot in Puyo Puyo! 15th Anniversary.

In Puyo Puyo!! 20th Anniversary, Rider's storyline is about her trying to gain some self-esteem and confidence. Rider bumps into Satan once again. Rider then calls Satan her brother once again, and after the puyo match, Satan tells her to stop calling him "big brother", so Rider calls him "big brother" only in her mind.
